Inspired by a neighborhood infrastructure project, artist Robert A. Zeichner has created a collection of black & white photographs, paintings and sculptures that take a whimsical look at job site and machinery. Wear your jeans, plaid flannel shirts and a hard hat, if you have one, when viewing this work. Opening reception, April 28, 6:30pm-8:30pm. Come and meet the artist and some neighbors. Articipate art camps are limited to 15 students and require five students to run a session. The cost per child is $175. A 5% family discount applies for 2 or more children. Each child will receive a T-shirt “smock” and a personal sketch book.

DIY Mat Cutting April 18, 6-8pm

This workshop is for photographers, artists, printmakers, painters…if you know what frame shops charge to mount, mat and frame art work, you will want to add this skill to your repertoire.

Bob Zeichner will show you how to make T hinges, measure your mat area for either a window or overmat and cut a beveled mat with affordable mat cutting tools. You’ll also use a Logan Mat Machine and compare the experiences. After this workshop, you’ll be able to mount and mat your work for any frame kit. Cost is $25 which includes one archival mat board, ivory, 17” x 11”.

Custom size matting material available if notified one week prior to class, at cost. Class size limited to 10 people.

Arts & Eats for Berkley Seniors

Thursday, April 27th Lunch at Amici’s Pizza followed by painting at Articipate Art Studio from 12:30-2:00pm. We’ve partnered with Berkley Parks and Recreation Dept. to provide transportation* and a Watercolor art adventure at Articipate. $20 includes transportation, an art adventure in watercolor and materials. Lunch at Amici’s will be on your own.

Register for this complete day trip by calling Ann at 248-658-3470 at Berkley Parks & Recreation by April 19. *Oxford pick up at 10:45am, Berkley Community Center pick up at 11:00am.

Ladies Art Night

On May 11th, we will be making patriotic pallet fringe flags. Great as a door hanger or as part of your American pride displays. Painting, fabric cutting, gluing & stenciling make up this fun craft. 7:00pm-9:00pm. $21 per person pre pay, $25 at the door. Includes all materials. You are welcome to bring your favorite snacks & beverages
