Girls Night Out -- April 13 5-9pm
The Ellensburg Downtown Association's Spring Girls Night out promises to be another evening of fun, with merchants staying open late, offering treats and event specials, and every $10 you spend enters you in a drawing to win one of two event-wide gift baskets.

At Yarn Folk, we'll have gorgeous gem-like truffles from Roslyn Candy Co., an in-store raffle for a learn-to-knit or learn-to-crochet kit, and through the weekend you can spin the virtual spinner for a 4th anniversary thank you discount on your purchase!

Project Bags

My friend Kelly not only screen prints these fun project bags, but she owns a yarn shop in Illinois. She was having a rough day at her shop (it happens), and my supply of bags was getting low, so in the spirit of friends helping friends, I ordered some new stock. Everybody wins!

Coming Soon

Real soon: fingering weight yarn from Dizzy Blonde studios and new stock from Dream in Color.

Pretty soon: full gradient skeins from Apple Tree Knits, Soie luxury fingering from Phydeaux Designs (pictured here).

Also pretty soon: Leading Men Fiber Arts Show Stealer (merino/cashmere/nylon fingering weight).

Surprise FO

I briefly considered frogging my 2015 Crackerjack cowl and repurposing the yarn for this year. But then I realized I'd have too many short lengths of yarn (I hadn't carried all four colors up the inside), and not only that, I only had 28 games left to document, and at two rounds per game, that was only 56 rounds left. So I looked up the 2015 season results and finished it

Still Working

After the ripping and rewinding of yarn, I am now working with "fresh" yarn again on the P-Rex. At the end of the current section, I'll move into the single color section.

There was a similar--though far less calamitous incident with Tashirojima Haori for LIttles. It's also back on track.

And clue 3 for Romi's Mystery Knitalong 2017 was released on Friday. The Soie yarn from Phydeaux continues to be a favorite.A note about Rosemary Hill's patterns--if you struggle with mentally reversing chart symbols when reading the wrong side rows on a chart, Romi uses the same symbols to mean the same thing on both sides of the knitting. Full written instructions are also provided.

Until next week!
