PROMETHEUS 3D: RIDLEY SCOTT’S
“NEW UNIVERSE”

Interest in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus 3D has been hotting up this week following the announcement that Michael Fassbender is set to join the increasingly star studded cast. Fassbender will play an android in Prometheus and joins Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), set to play one of the female leads with Charlize Theron rumoured to be in talks for the part of Vickers.

Scott has brought in Lost's Damon Lindelof in to work on the script, adding to the anticipation in Hollywood that Scott's Alien-related 'new universe' is going to be a serious production. Originally billed as a prequel to Scott’s classic 1979 space horror Alien, Twentieth Century Fox later announced that the project is no longer an Alien prequel at all.

According to Scott Prometheus is based on "a new, grand mythology and universe", but with "Alien's DNA". Adding to the intrigue is that bloggers and fans seem to be more excited about the prospect of an original film rather than a straight-up prequel. Prometheus is due to release in the UK next year.
