Welcome back to POTEMKIN STUDIOS News!
In this edition, we’ll introduce you to an exciting inter-city exchange program and a Berlin-based lighting design studio. And we have a little reminder for an amazing conference that we're part of!
We hope you enjoy the April edition of the Newsletter!

040x040 — Connecting Hamburg and Malmö

040x040 in Hamburg.

040×040 is a series of community-driven gatherings for creatives and innovators from Hamburg and Malmö. The inter-city exchange started in 2015 and is a very personal experience with two days of exchange, creative work and jam sessions, visits to local companies & agencies as well networking and matchmaking. The event alternates between Hamburg and Malmö on a year-to-year basis.
The next gathering will be held in Malmö from May 10th to 12th
By the way: 040 is the dialing code for both cities – Hamburg as well as Malmö. A coincidence?

Scenography in Focus: Studio De Schutter

Lighting concept by Studio De Schutter.

Introducing Studio De Schutter, a Berlin-based lighting design studio specialized in creating engaging spaces with light, shadow and atmosphere. The studio develops lighting design projects for inside and outside with temporary or permanent installations.

One of Studio De Schutter's most recent projects is the lighting concept for the Voidu Bridge in Tartu, Estonia. The challenge here was to use the existing lighting to create an eye-catching installation that engages the viewer and recalls the history of the city. With the use of state of the art programming and dynamic colored lighting, the first concrete bridge – a forgotten icon in the city of Tartu, was given a new identity and brought into the present. See the results of the dynamic lighting scenario for the Voidu Bridge here.
