"A Grand Entrance"

John 12:12-19

Palm Sunday. The joyous celebration that opens Holy Week, recalling that day when Jesus entered Jerusalem to cries of "Hosanna!" Many churches reenact the day by having children parade through the sanctuary waving palm branches.

But we miss that this event was explosive. Palms to us are a sign of a nice vacation. Then, they were treason. Jesus is the flame that lights the fuse on the powder keg that Jerusalem was in that day and time...

Disciples Baskets.  The Deacons will be collecting non-perishable items for our families in need for the Easter Holiday.  We would very much appreciate your help in this matter.  There is a basket in the Narthex with suggestions of what you can donate.  Contact Nancy Rakus (215659-6328) if you have any questions.

Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network.  Invites you to their Empty Plate Dinner on April 22nd.  This is an All-You-Can-Eat Feast!  It will be held at St. Dominic Church, Marian Hall from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.  It will feature specialties from over 70 local restaurants.  The cost is $20 in advance for adults, $25 at the door and $10 for children 12 and under.  See Joy Lorah or Susan Jorett for tickets.

Save the Date.  We will be holding our 3rd Annual Flea Market on June 3rd with a rain date of June 10th from 9-2 pm.  As you start your Spring cleaning and come across some gently used items you would like to part with, you can bring them to the stage after Easter.  Also, our Bazaar will be held on November 4th this year.

Operation Christmas Child.  Items to be collected during April and May, 2017.  Small toys, puzzles – small, stuffed animals, dolls, jump ropes, etc.  Water bottles, cups, bowls, spoons, baseball hats, bandanas.  Do not include anything in bottles as they can break during shipping and ruin the entire shoebox.  Also, we are unable to accept toothpaste this year.  We plan on having a packing party sometime in October.
