Human bodies reinterpret their surroundings in this photography exhibition by dancer, choreographer, and photographer Jim De Block

A bicycle path is for biking and a pavement is for walking. But what if we used these everyday spaces in new ways? In the photo series ‘Neither Here Nor There’ Belgian photographer and performance artist Jim de Block renegotiates the relation between the human body and the urban space we inhabit. Through imaginative stagings of the body in different architectural and natural surroundings he invokes an alternative reality where the impossible becomes possible, the well-known becomes strange and the ordinary assumes a new strange beauty.

Menneskekroppen indtager rummet på nye måder i denne udstilling af fotograf og performancekunstner Jim de Block.

En cykelsti er til at cykle på, et fortov til at gå på. Men hvad nu, hvis vi brugte hverdagens rum på helt nye måder? I fotoserien ‘Neither Here Nor There’ genforhandler den belgiske fotograf og performancekunstner Jim de Block menneskekroppens forhold til de offentlige rum, vi bevæger os i. Gennem fantasifulde iscenesættelser af kroppen i forskellige arkitektoniske og naturlige rammer, fremkalder han en alternativ virkelighed, hvor det umulige bliver muligt, det velkendte bliver fremmed og det almindelige pludselig antager en ny, sær skønhed.
