Surviving and Thriving

"IT WAS A WAKE-UP CALL FOR ME."

This week, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge made headlines and raised some eyebrows as she revealed that not only did she use medicinal marijuana during her 2004 battle with breast cancer, she continues to smoke recreationally and medicinally with her wife and grown children.

In a new interview with Yahoo! and its Weed & the American Family project, Etheridge says that cancer and her experience with cannabis was a "wake-up call," and even after she'd recovered, she decided the health benefits of marijuana were compelling enough to make it part of her lifestyle for good.

We recently spoke with Etheridge on Growing Bolder Radio and featured her on the cover of Growing Bolder Magazine. It's a candid, revealing and compelling conversation in which the singer tells us that the only way she knows to keep moving forward is to take risks, feel uncomfortable and passionately pursue whatever path takes her to greater health and happiness.
