On Persistence...(from "I Was Just Thinking About" day calendar)

Persistence, perseverance, determination, doggedness, resolve…all are the same bedfellows; the  fuel that helps you get the job done. In 1934, Charles Darrow brought ‘Monopoly’ to the Parker Brothers Company. The ‘experts’ at Parker Brothers rejected the game, citing ’52 fundamental errors.’

Ironically, one year later in 1935, Mr. Darrow was well received by the embarrassed  Parker Brothers. The persistent Charles Darrow had spent the year of his rejection demonstrating the potential success of the game, by selling numerous editions of the board game himself. Parker Brothers eventually helped make the unemployed heating engineer a multi-millionaire. Since that time, over 275 million copies of Monopoly have been sold in 111 countries and 43 languages!

It’s all too easy to procrastinate, and not put in the necessary effort for a dream to happen. But dig in, and try tapping into a ‘try try again’ persistent attitude.

Another example of following your heart and passions and not always listening to the so called ‘experts.’ They’ve been wrong before and they will CERTAINLY be wrong again.
Keep pushing on…
