"Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more." Proverbs 9:9 NLT

Jeanie's Three Quick Tips

Tip 1: Organize

Taming those dreaded paper piles.

Which papers do I need? What should I shred?
How long should I save receipts?
Can l douse my paperwork piles with bbq lighter fluid and run screaming hysterically from the area?
(Sorry, the answer to that last question is an emphatic, "No.")

For a few basic guidelines, take Allstate's quick
"Save or Shred" Quiz. Learn answers to common paperwork questions, and save the lighter fluid for your cookouts.

Tip 2: Simplify

Anyone who's seen the 1973 movie, "Soylent Green" will understand my apprehension at trying a new "nutritional" product line called--wait for it--"Soylent."

It contains a bio-engineered algae. Nope, I'm not making that up. It's actually created in a bioreactor.

I keep picturing the Soylent Green movie's climactic scene with Charlton Heston screaming, "People! Soylent Green is make from people!"
Click here to watch the classic scene . . . but not if you're drinking a Soylent product
If the link get stripped, you can find the scene at

The dubbing is so hilariously bad it's worth spending the 1 minute to view it.

Tip 3: Save Money

Vacation or Stay-cation?

Whether you're planning a vacation or stay-cation this summer, honor your inner "frugal-ista" with money saving tips.

The
Budget Simple website shares 8 Ways to Save On Your Summer Vacation.
If leaving town isn't in the budget, the Fox Business website offers these super stay-cation guidelines, emphasizing why taking a break is vital.

Does anyone else use this major budget stretcher---bringing food on road trips? We always travel with bottled water, sandwich fixings, fruits, baby carrots, etc.
If we're at a hotel that doesn't offer a free breakfast, we take along things like hard boiled eggs and our favorite cereal.
