FIRST CLASS: MONDAY 8th MAY

Soo Bahk Do on safari

Q: Are there any Moo Duk Kwan dojangs in Africa?
A: None, but I'm taking my dobok, just in case.

These days my travel generally revolves around Soo Bahk Do training camps, seminars and Shim Sa (assessments). This trip though will be all about the lions, tigers and (hopefully) elephants. These are NOT ideal training partners, however I'll happily utilise my 'hu jin' (retreat) skills to full effect if needed.

For those not heading to Africa, there is a slight delay in classes resuming, with the first class back on Monday 8th May. In the first week back we will be advising those students who will be eligible for testing at the end of the term. As there will be larger than normal group, the testing will occur over two nights on Monday 19th and Wednesday 21st June. We'll provide more details about this closer to the time.

In Term 2 we'll be focusing on hyung (forms/patterns) and gi cho (basics). These are the foundations or the building blocks of Soo Bahk Do.

Be sure to check out the new articles on the sydneymdk.com website and don't forget to find us and 'like' SMDK on Facebook to stay up to date.

See you back at training in May.

Regards,
Kim Wyles
