Strong Response to Fish 2.0 Workshops Reveals Deep Well of Entrepreneurs

Over 250 ventures applied and 150 entrepreneurs participated in six Fish 2.0 precompetition regional workshops. Active investors and sponsors joined us at each event, allowing entrepreneurs to fine-tune their business pitches and connect with each other and with local business leaders. We look forward to seeing many of these workshop participants and applicants in the 2017 competition. (Apply here)

Workshops took place in Fiji (for the Pacific Islands track), near Boston (U.S. New England track), Bangkok (Southeast Asia track), Wilmington, North Carolina (U.S. South Atlantic & Gulf Coast track), Santiago (Chile & Peru track), and Seattle (U.S. West Coast track).

ICX (Industry Connection) Prizes Provide Invaluable Connections and Support

ICX prizes give Fish 2.0 competitors the one-on-one access they need to connect substantively with industry leaders and investors. These unique prizes — from funders, seafood buyers, and service providers — can become the advantage that helps a business take off.

So far, we’ve lined up 10 ICX prizes for 2017: Albion Farms and Fisheries, AllTech, Australis Barramundi, Rabobank, Calvert Foundation, FishChoice, RSF Social Finance, Stavis Seafoods, Tom Algae (a Benchmark company), and Wabel (Europe). Check out the details here. Industry leaders continue to step forward with ICX prizes — if you’d like to contribute, please contact monica@fish20.org
