We Ring The Bell campaign

Many children with disabilities worldwide don’t have access to school. That’s why Liliane Foundation, together with DCDD and many others (including 300.000 children!), rang the bell on March 22nd. Around 4500 people signed the petition for more inclusive education for children with disabilities in low and middle-income countries. Seven Members of Parliament were actively involved in ringing the bell. DCDD will follow up the campaign to the Dutch Parliament.

After Dutch elections: for inclusive policies!

Currently negotiations for a new Dutch government coalition are ongoing. DCDD hopes for sustainable and inclusive new policies! Therefore DCDD (together with many other stakeholders) signed a petition at: duurzaamregeerakkoord.nl

Furthermore, DCDD and member organizations wrote a letter to the Parliament with recommendations for making policies for development cooperation more inclusive for people with disabilities.

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights & Disability

How inclusive is SRHR-policy towards people with a disability? The Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation sent a letter to the Parliament (responding on questions from the Paliament about this issue). In the coming months, DCDD will work on a publication about SRHR and Disability, with a number of best practices. It will be presented during a meeting with Sharenet. Do you have a good disability-inclusive SRHR-example? Please e-mail dnieuwenhuis@dcdd.nl
