GIVE NOLA DAY 5.2.17
STRIKE TODAY, GIVE TOMORROW!
JOIN US TO BUILD A SAFER CITY. STRIKE AND MARCH TODAY!
On Give OUT Day, we told you what we'd accomplished in just a few months with your support.  Now, for Give NOLA Day, we wanted to share what you can help make happen over the new few months!

With your support on Give NOLA Day, BreakOUT! can:

  • Expand the idea of what a safe or sanctuary city looks like and fight the New Orleans Safety Plan, a proposed $40 million dollar plan for more police and surveillance in New Orleans that will do nothing to keep LGBTQ youth of color safe;
  • Release the Vice to ICE Toolkit, the culmination of several years work building relationships across language barriers with undocumented communities at the Congress of Day Laborers;
  • Release an app that will track LGBTQ-affirming resources in the city and provide a way for LGBTQ youth to be able to rate and comment on the services they are provided;
  • Consider the purchase of a building to relocate our office and possibly provide housing to 2-4 LGBTQ young adults in New Orleans to speak directly to the lack of housing options that cause youth to be funneled into the criminal justice system;
  • Host a GSA Summit this summer to bring together LGBTQ youth from schools around New Orleans- the first nearly all-charter school system in the country;
  • Learn de-escalation and wellness strategies from Tigers Eye Collective and Collette Carter, and continue to strengthen our organization to withstand the next 4 years through the support of Vision Change Win;
  • And more!
