Romanian Film Festival at Stanford, UC Berkeley, SFSU
 April 20 - April 25 2017, free event. 
 
The festival presents Cristian Mungiu’s rite of passage fable “Graduation”, Best Director winner at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, Bogdan Mirica’s psychological thriller “Dogs”, winner of FIPRESCI AWARD at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, Radu Jude’s sardonic, ironic and cruel (w)eastern “Aferim”, Silver Bear for Best Director at 2015 Berlin Film Festival, Romanian-French co-production “The Fixer” by Adrian Sitaru, “Double”, Catrinel Danaiata’s film directorial debut and Paul Negoescu’s low-budget comedy of character “Two Lottery Tickets” based on Ioan Luca Caragiale’s short story.

The audience is welcomed to attend the screening of the following documentary films: Sinisa Dragin’s Romanian-Serbian co-production of “The Forrest” about past presidents, paintings and problems that ensue; and Claudiu Mitcu’s “The Network” about chemotherapy drug “smugglers.”

Special guests: directors Bagdan Mirica, and actor Adrian Titieni, Silver Hugo, Best Actor, Chicago International Film Festival 2016, actress Maria Dinulescu.
