With Anton Bruckner's 5th Symphony, Seattle Symphony's Ludovic Morlot says the composer was "trying to find answers to the big questions about life." The entire concert this coming weekend will be exploring those answers with the one 80-minute masterpiece.

The David Bryne-penned musical, Here Lies Love, is now in performances at the Seattle Repertory Theatre. The Bagley Wright Theater has been totally transformed for the show to create an immersive disco club environment.

The 5th Avenue Theatre is gearing up to showcase a world-premiere musical based on the much-loved film Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. Casting for the lead roles has been announced—one of the actors was in Kinky Boots on Broadway, the other in Disney's Frozen Live.

The Seattle International Film Festival is fast approaching. Though they have yet to unveil the full lineup of movies, they recently announced the Opening Night film. On May 18th "The Big Sick" will be screened at McCaw Hall. Produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Michael Showalter, the romantic comedy tells the real life story of Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) and Emily V. Gordon’s courtship.

Coming Up in City Arts

Each year, we pair up local movers and shakers and ask them to interview one another. The results are funny, thoughtful, and always surprising. Just take a look at previous interview issues.

This year, City Arts invites pairs that know each other well to dive deep into each other's work and point of view. We can't reveal the local luminaries we'll be featuring this year quite yet, but we can promise you it's going to be good.
