Event recap of DUX: Quacking the Code

Staff from SWAN libraries joined the Discovery & User Experience Group (DUX) on April 6 for a mini conference on different functions and features of Enterprise. Some of the day's sessions included:
  • Searching for Materials in Enterprise vs Workflows
  • Advanced Patron Accounts and Rooms Overview
  • EDS, EBSCOadmin, and OpenAthens, Oh My!
  • How to Write a Standout Trouble Ticket and A Day in the Life of an Enterprise Outage
  • How Stuff Works: Enterprise Edition
Sessions were repeated during the half-day event and there were A LOT of snacks available, keeping everybody energized and able to share hot tips and tricks they've learned about using Enterprise. Multiple times throughout the day you heard, "If you don't have this function set up already, using it will make your day easier, guaranteed." The panel participants and session leaders learned a lot, too, thanks to our great event participants.

Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to see you at future DUX events and at the annual SWAN user event on Friday, August 11: the SWANstravaganza. More details will be shared soon.

Information Around Coming Auto-Renewals Report
In the beginning of May, SWAN will be rolling out Auto-renewals as soon as Symphony has been upgraded to 3.5.2. Auto-renewals will be released as an opt-out report. In other words if you choose to have your library not participate, you need to notify SWAN of your decision. You can opt out by opening a ticket at help@swanlibraries.net by April 24. Learn more about the report here and how it will benefit patrons.

Upcoming Events

BlueCloud Analytics Classes
Beginning in April, the BlueCloud Analytics (BCA) class will be held every other week on Wednesday morning. Also, there is no longer a restriction of only one attendee per library per event. While work continues on developing an advanced class in BCA, we would like to suggest if you attended a BCA class in the Fall you might want to come again to  one that is being currently offered. The reports in BCA have grown by leaps and bounds since September and there is a wealth of reports to share with you. If you should have any questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to contact one of the Member Services consultants (Samantha Dietel, Crystal Vela and Vickie Totton). To view a list of classes currently available, go to: http://www.librarylearning.info/tags/?BCA.
