New Day Missionaries

The vision of New Day has always been to raise up a generation of children who know Jesus Christ who will then turn around and share Him with their fellow countrymen.  We didn't realize that we would be able to see this happen so soon!

This past month, our older children witnessed to their peers on two separate occasions and led 2 boys to Christ.  One day, the older boys saw one of their friends, Franco, herding cattle outside the fence.  They called him over and began asking him about his cows and then turned the discussion to spiritual things.  The boys clearly presented the Gospel, and Franco asked Jesus to come into his heart.  Franco has attended church and Kids Club for years, but it was the explanation by the New Day children that he finally understood, and his eyes were opened to Jesus!

In Livingstone a couple of weeks later, our older children had to remain an extra night on the field trip due to the bus breaking down.  When sitting at a local pizza restaurant, they began a conversation with some street kids.  After talking for awhile, one of the girls presented the Gospel and led one of the street boys to Jesus!

We are blessed to be able to see what happens when a child in Zambia learns the truth about Jesus and shares this truth with their peers.  Behold, God wants to do a new thing in Zambia, and we are blessed to get to witness what He is doing!

GOODBYE TO TEACHER CAROLYN and NURSE CAROL
Please pray for Teacher Carolyn as she returns to Texas on May 2nd.  Her father has been in and out of the hospital, and she felt the timing was right to return home to help with his care.  She is unsure when she will be able to return to New Day, and she covets your prayers!  She has unselfishly spent the last 5 years serving at New Day!  Please also pray for Carol as she returns to her home in Oklahoma on May 24th.  We have been blessed to have her serve for the past 5 months at New Day.  She fixed many "ouches," and she selflessly served as a substitute teacher in our challenging Pre-K class!  She also helped host teams in The Ark and was always willing to help out wherever needed!  We will miss you both!
BACK TO SCHOOL!
The New Day School will be back in session on May 8th and will go until July 27th.  Please pray specifically for our teachers Mike, Christopher, Zali, Hildah, Melvin, Darbi, Ron, Dee, Simon, and Diana!  Please also pray for Principal Laurie as she leads us and takes on the challenge of substitute teaching for Carolyn, interviewing and hiring new teachers, and training current teachers.  And of course, please lift up the New Day students in your prayers as they study hard this term!
MARRIAGE CONFERENCE
Please pray for our team from Coulter Road Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas as they spend May 17-24 at New Day!  They will be helping out in various ways at New Day and also hope to spend time volunteering at a local school.  They will also be leading a 2 day marriage conference - something that has been highly requested by the husbands and wives living in the villages around us!  Please pray that marriages will be transformed and families will forever be changed through this conference!
