Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Fortunately Spring still comes. The grass has turned the hills vibrant green and the wildflowers are showing off their beautiful selves. Baby calves are in the pastures and the urge to garden and plant new life is still strong. But Spring also makes me feel the deep grief for what is happening in our country and on the planet. It breaks my heart seeing the bounty and loveliness which Mother Earth offers us so generously even though we have mistreated her so badly.
Last week I did a Grief Ritual with Francis Weller offered by Black Mountain Circle in Point Reyes. It feels so essential to grieve, not only for ourselves and our personal losses but also for the Earth and the suffering of so many human and non-human beings struggling to survive. Climate Change and political change are pushing us to the edge or perhaps beyond the edge of extinction. We must touch into our grief in order to keep our hearts open and in love with life so that we can continue to bring forth the "more beautiful world we know is possible". A group of us in Point Reyes are planning to continue offering monthly grief rituals for the community. Let me know if you are interested in joining or starting a group in your community.
In these perilous times we need to reconnect to ourselves, to each other and to the earth. I continue to offer Work That Reconnects workshops and retreats. Please contact me if you would like to host a workshop or grief ritual and visit my website constancewashburn.com to learn more about what I am up to and see what is coming up next or go to Work That Reconnects and Conscious Elders Network. See the box to the right.
Happy Spring to All Beings Everywhere,
Constance

The Work That Reconnects can help us explore the challenges of our time with mindfulness, open hearts and creativity.
