Global Ocean Refuge System

Spring 2017 Update

Marine Conservation Institute and Mission Blue co-hosted a workshop focused on advancing ocean conservation this April at the Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies, San Francisco State University. The Global Ocean Refuge System (GLORES) and Hope Spot initiatives were highlighted, and participants discussed how their organizations can support more effective marine protected areas in California and around the globe. Over 50 individuals representing conservation groups, government agencies, academic institutions and businesses participated in the workshop!
