How could someone be so cruel?

Hello there.  I hope everyone had a Happy Easter.  I am so thankful to be alive!  My name is Sawyer, and in case you have not heard of me, I am what they call a "cruelty case."  I was severely abused at the hands of humans, and then discarded as trash on the brink of death.  I have numerous serious medical issues including being severely emaciated, a bullet in my abdomen, multiple fractures of my pelvis, dislocated hips, a calcified mass in my colon impeding my ability to defecate, distended bladder, dangerously high white blood count and low red blood count, sores all over my body, and much more.

Someone dumped me at Kenworth truck dealership at 6855 North Loop East on April 5th or 6th. I was unable to stand or walk.   An employee called animal control who picked me up and took me to BARC, the city pound.  They knew I was in critically ill, and sent out a plea on my behalf to the rescue groups.   REDCollar Rescue responded and immediately took me to the ER.   The vets at the ER said I was a "train wreck"...one of the worst cases of abuse they had ever seen.
I have now been in ICU with round the clock care, IV fluids and a cocktail of medicines, for 9 days.  At this point, every day I survive is a blessing.  I need surgery to repair the fractures in my pelvis and hips and to remove the mass in my colon, but this cannot be done until I am healthy enough to have anesthesia.  The vets are trying to partially dissolve the calcified mass in my colon thru enemas and other means, so that I can eat and potty normally and gain some weight, which will hopefully help me become strong enough for surgery.

The police are investigating my case.  If you have any information that might help, please notify HPD.  I hope they find the person that did these horrible things to me.

If you can help with my HUGE vet bills, please make a tax-deductible donation to REDCollar Rescue!  My ICU costs are over $1000 per day, and I still have orthopedic surgery ahead of me, which will be at least another $5000.  These high costs are a real hardship, but RCR is committed to be there with me each step of the way, and they need your assistance.

I have wonderful people taking care of me, and I know so many more are praying for me and sending positive thoughts.   I am tired and beaten, but I am not giving up.  I am hoping that maybe one of you reading my story will want to foster and/or adopt me when I am healthy enough to leave the vet clinic....how is that for positive thinking!

With Love and Gratitude,
Sawyer
