MAY IS "MAKE PCMF GREAT" MONTH!

Now is the time to ensure the success of PCMF 2017. When you contribute to PCMF, you provide vital support that enables us to present a weeklong festival of world-class chamber music in a neighborhood setting. That includes our Community Engagement Initiative, a kids concert, and three feature concerts! Your contribution will make a meaningful difference to the East Bay community, and we can't do it without you!

HOW MUCH DOES PCMF NEED?
As of today, we need to raise $10,123 to meet our estimated expenses for this year. Our 2017 budget is about 51% funded.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Most of our revenue goes directly towards performance fees and transportation expenses for our artists. Our budget is very low on administrative costs, meaning that your dollar will go straight to producing great programming!
HOW CAN I HELP?
You can make a tax-deductible donation to PCMF through our website. Donations of any amount are greatly welcome, but individuals and businesses can sponsor a festival musician or be our Community Engagement Initiative's primary benefactor for $1,000, or underwrite an entire concert for $2,000. See other levels of perks here, including various opportunities to meet our musicians.
IS THERE A SECRET PERK FOR DONATING?
Why, yes. Everyone who donates will receive the glowing satisfaction of knowing you supported great arts performance and education, but for one special donor, chosen at random at the close of our festival, our renowned violinist and resident poet Jasmine Lin will compose a haiku based on a word of your choosing. Meet flutist Joshua Smith.

Name: Joshua Smith
Nickname: No nickname that I know of, unless you include Josh. Joshie only for my mother.

Instrument: Flute
Friday night libation: Negroni in spring/summer. Manhattan in fall/winter.
Favorite piece that's being performed at PCMF 2017 and why: I'm a huge fan of the Debussy Trio - the colors used by these three instruments used together are remarkable.
What are you looking forward to most about spending a week in the Bay Area? Sea lions.
What's the craziest or most memorable thing that's happened to you during a performance? Once, the front page of an accordion-folded part that seemed about 100 pages long flopped off the edge of my stand and trailed into the second violin section, with the tail staying behind on my stand. I had to haul it back and keep playing, all while a spotlight was shining on me and the rest of the flute section was doubled over in laughter.
