Wes with his parents, Jean and George, at Clifty Falls State Park in Indiana
Visiting With Family
We spent much of last week enjoying time with Wes' family in southern Indiana. Wes grew up in the area ... as did his parents ... so there's ample memories to be seen everywhere we go although so much has changed from the "simpler days" as in widespread development and a lot of traffic. The Louisville Zoo is still a treat and we also enjoyed visiting a couple area parks. We know there's going to be some Meerkat and Tiger paintings in our future after they obliged us with such GREAT reference material at the zoo.
Be sure to check out Rachelle's blog post about our visit for more fun memories!

.... in case you are wondering about the header photo ... We were all watching a beautiful male Baltimore Oriole in a tree above us!
LAST CHANCE TO JOIN US!!! TexArt: A Workshop for Professional Artists
May 21-26, 2017: Schreiner University Campus, Kerrville, TX ~ We're honored to be instructors at this unique collaborative Artist Workshop with the Susan Kathleen Black Foundation and the Society of Animal Artists. Last year, Wes taught a one-day session on miniature painting and we're expanding it this year with four days of training in opaque watercolor. Of course, our emphasis will be working small but the techniques apply at any scale. We'll also be demonstrating a variety of subject matter based upon participant feedback: wildlife, landscape, marine, still life and/or portraiture. Come join us for a lifetime career opportunity!

The exhibition is en route to The Stauth Memorial Museum in Montezuma, KS where it will be on display June 11th through September 3rd. We'll share photos when we have them. There's been a few date changes in the schedule and we hope to be adding another venue very soon to the Tour in 2019 or 2020.
We never tire of watching peoples' amazement examining our paintings under the magnifier!
I just returned from viewing the Traveling Exhibit at the Bonita Center for the Arts! Once again, I am absolutely blown away at these little gems! If you haven't seen the paintings in person, you owe it yourself to do so! A photo is one thing, but up close and personal, they are more amazing than you can imagine! ~ Lisa MacDonald (Testimonial from our Facebook Page)

Paintings are being sold on the tour and shipped to collectors at the close of that venue. Copies of our books are usually available in the museum gift shops too! Want to see our miniature paintings on display near you? Please feel free to suggest museum venues especially if you have a contact relationship with the staff!
There's a new blog highlighting the exhibition: Exquisite Miniatures
Please share this history-making tour with your friends and family when it comes near them!

Portrait Miniatures of United States Presidents
In the Permanent Collection of the Woolaroc Museum in Bartlesville, OK
On January 2nd, 1914, A contract was signed between miniaturist A. J. Rowell and collector "Diamond" Jim Brady for a collection of Presidential portrait miniatures. Apparently, Rowell worked on several sets of these portrait miniatures during his lifetime. Only two collections were completed to the present day by subsequent miniaturists. The Siegrists' paintings are in one of these complete collections housed at the Woolaroc Museum. The Woolaroc's founder, Frank Phillips, purchased the museum's collection in 1936 and was sent the original contract between the artist and Mr. Brady by A.J. Rowell.
