The ART of of Transformative Dialogue

On Tuesday 2 May, the College will host a unique event on "War or Peace? Changing the Paradigm!: An Interactive Encounter to Enact Global Transformation". Featuring images, testimonies, music, dialogue & more, this event marks the public launch of the new initiative Enacting Global Transformation.

Speaking at the event will be William Kelly (award-winning artist), Lord John Alderdice (Director of CRIC & peace negotiator, Northern Ireland), Dr Rama Mani (Founder: Theatre of Transformation Academy) and Dr Annette Idler (Director of Studies: CCW)

This event is co-hosted by The Changing Character of War Programme (CCW), The Centre for the Resolution of Intractable Conflict (CRIC) and the Centre for International Studies (CIS).

ASEAN Ambassadors: A Conversation

The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was formally established at the end of 2015 but progress on more robust regional economic integration has been slow. While ASEAN's leadership continues to promote integration on a variety of platforms, domestic politics and regional conflicts (such as the South China Sea dispute and the persistent refugee crisis) also threaten to undermine further strengthening of the organisation.

In this roundtable discussion, Ambassadors to the UK from several ASEAN countries will discuss the challenges faced in realising the ASEAN Economic Community, and regional integration more generally.

The conversation will take place at 5pm on Thursday 4 May in the investcorp Lecture Theatre.

Zygmunt Bauman: Liquid Legacy?

Earlier this year, one of the most renowned Polish sociologists, Professor Zygmunt Bauman passed away. His death provoked numerous discussions about his intellectual legacy, particularly with regard to his approach to the concept of liquid modernity and its consequences.

This seminar will aim to unpack the legacy of Bauman as one of the most important Polish intellectuals without avoiding controversial aspects of his life. The discussion will be lead by Anthony Giddens and Richard Sennett (both London School of Economics) and Jaroslaw Kuisz (St Antony's College).

All are welcome to this event, part of the Knowledge Bridges between Poland, Britain and Europe activity at St Antony's College.
