SPRING 2017 Newsletter
Hello Friends!
This summer I will be busy with more than art festivals. I have been fortunate enough to see successful community mural projects in New Zealand, South Dakota, Michigan and Arkansas. Below is an image from The Unexpected Project, a grass roots mural project that brought urban street artists into downtown Fort Smith & Fayetteville, AR. The results are stunning, and the pieces have become part of each city's image and brand. This three story owl by Alexis Diaz, a well-known Puerto Rican street artist, was installed in Fort Smith last year.
As some of you may know, I was lucky enough to be part of the downtown Fort Wayne 'Art This Way' project. I have two collaborative works in the alley, but I would like to see more artists, more art and more visitors to this outdoor public art gallery! In the spirit of other successful mural projects, we are in the process of orchestrating a large September art event to help raise money to expand on this outdoor gallery in downtown Fort Wayne. We would like to raise enough funds to pay local and regional artists to do at least two more large murals. This project will further display Fort Wayne's artistic side and set a precedent for paying artists a fair wage for public art installations. I will bring you an update in my summer newsletter as this project continues to build momentum!
I am also doing a full summer festival circuit! I will be at the June 17-18th Talbot Street Art Fair in Indianapolis, and the July 8-9th Three River's Art in the Park. After that I am heading west to Colorado for five art shows: Pearl Street, Salida Arts Festival (pending), Breckenridge Main Street Art Festival, Ridgway Rendezvous, and Golden Fine Arts Festival (pending). I will be back on September 9th & 10th for Fort Wayne Arts Festival at Jefferson Pointe.
I was accepted as an exhibiting artist at the Fort Wayne International Airport for the second year in a row! I will have work there from October through December this year. For a full list of my events and venues follow my Facebook event page or my website events page.
In February I opened a new gallery/studio space on Broadway (1124 1/2 Broadway, 46802). I am open by appointment only, but now you can contact me to grab a last minute gift, schedule a meeting to discuss a commission, or bring visitors from out of town over to see my works. Please email or text to set up a gallery visit: Alexandra.Hall.Artist@gmail.com or 260.417.5925
I cannot thank you enough for all your support, without it I would never get to do what I love.
Be good to one another!
All My Best,
Alex
