What is Opus 42?

At the peak of romanticism Robert Schumann composed one of the most renowned collections of songs about women's love and life.
For the last two years Mandy Mozart visited some of the most talented musicians and mix modular melodies and electronic basses.
R.S.V.P. now

How was it made?

Mandy Mozart works on impulse, in jams, in the studio, on the road, in the air, in the desert, in the radio, live and sleepless nights on pen and paper and computer screens.

His passion is to collaborate and collect ideas and layers those samples and recordings over and over again, deconstructs and eventually decides on finished piece.

The recordings to this piece started on a cold winter day in gray Berlin in an empty warehouse rave bunker on a 150 year old grand piano. The journey continued via Mannheim's SWR studios, to Haifa, to Vienna, to Leipzig, to Weimar and finally now returns to the place were Mandy Mozart's passion for electronic music was fueled. It's far from over, but at a very good "state" and worth sharing with the world. Every concert is another step towards a Gesamtkunstwerk. In Jena the performance crew is not only joined by some of the most talented voices and musicians but also passionate visual creators.

The work wouldn't have been possible and as multi layered, international and colorful without the amazing resonance and willingness of so many people to contribute to this once in a century project.

Contributing artists: Rahel Hutter, Keren Dun, Catnapp, Nastja Volokitina, Hanna Palme, Kiki Hitomi, Ruth Pearce, Lola Rossi, Suboi, Anna Schauberger, David Schwarz, Wieland Jubelt, Thomas Prestin, Judith Filimonova.
