Google released six new VR experiences in support of the Gilder Lehman Institute’s Hamilton Education Program. The six-week program from the institute is merging VR and performance art to teach students about American history. With a $800,000 grant from Google, the institute is sending 5,000 students across to the U.S. on a trip to New York to see “Hamilton,” the hit Broadway musical biography of Alexander Hamilton. Through the VR experiences, students can visit historic sites, like Alexander Hamilton’s home in Uptown Manhattan and Philadelphia’s Independence Hall. You can check out the VR tours through Google’s Expeditions app. — TECHCRUNCH

Apple has updated its Mac Pro trademark to include VR and AR displays, goggles and 3D spectacles. This comes after the company said it was working on a new model of their high-end desktop. The tech giant has to legally update a trademark if their product is going to support or introduce new components, systems or features that aren’t covered by the current trademark. However, there is still no guarantee that Apple is integrating VR or AR into its desktop with this trademark update. Earlier this week, it was announced the company was adding AR expert Jeff Norris to join its team. — APPLEINSIDER

Chinese startup 7invensun will release an eye tracking module called aGlass, which is designed for the HTC Vive. The module comes in the form of a thin plastic overlay that can be placed inside the headset, allowing the headset to track a player’s eyes in real time. The eye trackers are designed to be wired directly to the headset over USB. The startup came out of HTC’s Vive X accelerator program. The system will cost about $220 and will roll out in China next month. Interested buyers in the United States can find the aGlass available on the market by Q3. — UPLOADVR
