Unproductive at Work? Try Some O.A.T.S.

Employees looking to be more productive at work need only to spend some time to write down their weekly goals and plan, using the OATS formula.

Objectives – what is my goal for next week? Which assignments do I want to complete? For multiple assignments, rank them in order of both importance and ease.
Activities – what do I need to do in order to reach each goal? Do I need to rely on others for assistance?
Time – how much time will it realistically take to complete each assignment.
Schedule – block off the necessary time in your Outlook calendar to get things done?

Promotions Featured on AOL Jobs

I recently had the pleasure to sit down with Pamela Mahabeer from AOL Jobs to discuss my book Promotions Are Not Served At The Deli Counter. We talked about the messages in the book, my use of analogies, and the use of Batman as a role model, which happened to be the lead article in last month’s newsletter.
It was a fun interview which ended up becoming a really nice article on AOL.
