ICPSR Summer Program: June 29-30, 2017

Data Curation for Disability and Rehabilitation Outcomes Research

ICPSR is hosting a two-day workshop for those interested or actively engaged in preparing rehabilitation and disability outcomes research data for sharing and reuse. Workshop participants will learn how to plan, review, clean, document, and disseminate data collections. Emphasis will be placed on hands-on exercises demonstrating curation practices and participants can expect leave with knowledge and experiences of how to plan, assess, improve, and disseminate data for long-term preservation and access. A limited number of travel stipends are available for those interested.

Webinar- May 9, 2017, 2:00 – 3:00 PM (Eastern)

Tools for Finding Disability and Rehabilitation Related Data: Research tools for exploring national-survey and administrative data

Secondary datasets such as national surveys and administrative data are valuable resources for testing hypotheses and generating national-level statistics about disability and rehabilitation related-issues. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to identify what datasets are available and what data are most appropriate for addressing a specific research interest. This webinar will introduce a number of resources including the Rehabilitation Dataset Directory, the Rehabilitation Cross-dataset Variable Catalog as well as demonstrate their utility in performing secondary data research.

Increasing Access to Research Data for Secondary Data Analysis in the Rehabilitation and Disability Fields

The CLDR is hosting an inter-professional session designed to identify and explain the current data sharing attitudes and practices in disability and rehabilitation research. In addition, the panel will highlight recent success stories from PI’s who have archived data as well as end-users who have performed secondary data analysis with those archived data.
