#ShiftingGears begins May 1st

Peterborough's annual active and sustainable transportation challenge is back!

Sign up today to start logging your trips. Track your progress through the month of May, as you walk, bike, take transit, or carpool. Incentives, workshops, and lots of encouragement from fellow shifters will help you make the shift this spring.

#ShiftingGears is gaining momentum - join local bike commuters (like the one's featured in this new video!) on the trails and bike lanes this spring!

Building a more bike-friendly province

A number of recent announcements from the Province of Ontario show that support for bikes is growing:

$50 million for commuter cycling infrastructure has been included in the 2017 Budget
Tour by Bike: Ontario's Cycling Tourism Plan was announced earlier this month at the Ontario Bike Summit
The Ministry of Transportation has released a draft province-wide cycling network, and is welcoming feedback on the proposed routes until May 12

Bike Night

Join GreenUP and B!KE every Thursday for a night all about bikes starting this April.

1st Thursday - Bike repair, maintenance, and building

2nd Thursday - Family fun on bikes with tune-ups, playgrounds, games, and group rides

3rd Thursday - Confidence and skills building with gear talks, route planning, and road safety training

4th Thursday - Discovery rides to visit parks, galleries, gardens, and more!
