Board Announcements

OYFA!  Happy last week of classes!  With the year winding down, we would like to hear your input about the Year in OYFA as well as what you would like to see for the 30th anniversary next year!  We invite you out to our first ever OYFA Town Hall on Thursday, April 27th in New Cabell at 6PM (event page will be up soon).  We are looking specifically for general members to talk about what they like about OYFA and what they want to see in the organization, so we hope to see you all there! If you have any questions about anything OYFA related, you know we’d love to chat!

Sincerely,
OYFA Board 17-18

If you would like to learn more about GABRIELA DC and what they do, check out their FB page!

Humans of OYFA

"I would say my year has been pretty shambly. My car got totaled earlier in the year on the way to Wing Night, I went missing during Homecoming weekend, and I accidentally got a perm. But even though it’s been pretty rough, this has been the most experience-rich years of my time here at UVA. I became semi-pescartarian.  Charlottesville doesn’t really offer that many options for good and affordable seafood. That’s why I say I’m semi-pescatarian. Like if it isn’t possible to eat fish,  I’m willing to eat something else. People look at it as a some sort of joke a lot of the time, but I feel like it’s a legitimate life choice, or at least a personal experiment. I think the car accident may have made me subconsciously prefer fish, or maybe it was just a change in my tastebuds; honestly, I don’t really know why – I only know I really like fish."
