We hope you had a beautiful Easter! The last few weeks have been filled with international adventures- a missions trip to Monterrey, a visit to El Paso with our Saudi Arabian friends, and hosting an international student dinner. It's been an amazing time of brushing up on our language skills and opening our hearts to God's love for the nations. Here's a recap of everything that's happened:
Monterrey, Mexico
I (Kristin) had an incredible week leading my first missions trip to Monterrey, Mexico! Thank you for praying for me as I took twenty-four people to launch a brand-new campus ministry with an Every Nation church plant.

We began the week by hosting a training with the local church and then spent the week with them at the university, sharing the gospel with hundreds of students. Through the course of the week, seventy-four students prayed to give their lives to Christ! By the time we left, the one weekly campus Bible study turned into three weekly campus Bible studies.

One of the most impactful parts of the trip was connecting with Carlos, who recently graduated and has a fire in his heart for campus ministry. Carlos has been dreaming of full-time ministry, but was overwhelmed with where to begin. Our team was able to leave Carlos with the funding to get his visa and passport, and we are currently walking him through plans to come to the School of Ministry this year, which will make him the first full-time campus minister in Mexico.

El Paso and Saudi Arabia

While I was in Monterrey, Dan was in El Paso with our incredible Saudi Arabian friends (I'll refer to them as E and A). In our October newsletter, we told you their story: we met them at the international student fair in September, and quickly befriended them- especially after seeing that E was seven months pregnant with their first baby! Every week, E and A began coming to our church and Bible study, and we bonded our hearts deeply to them in a short amount of time.

The night that E went into labor, A called Dan crying. He was stressed out of his mind that something would go wrong, and he needed a friend. We rushed to the hospital, and Dan was able to comfort and pray with A while I went into the delivery room with E. I was honored beyond words to be her "sister" at the hospital as their precious daughter was born.

Over Spring Break week, Dan invited E and A to go with him to El Paso- they were feeling especially homesick over the holiday. E and A immediately hopped in the car and drove the 600 miles with Dan! It was a wonderful week of them seeing our hometown and having a sense of "family" with our parents and siblings. We hope to bring them again this summer, and are grateful in advance for anyone else who would like to show them the love and kindness of God. Please continue to pray that we would be the best friends we can be to them, and that they would gain an understanding of the saving power of Jesus.

International Easter dinner
On Easter, we hosted a dinner at our home for international students who did not have anywhere to go. It was a great opportunity to tell them that we weren't celebrating an "American" holiday, but that it was instead a Christian celebration about the resurrection of Jesus. We had students (and food) from the Philippines, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, India, Mexico, and the United States. Dan and I got to know several new students and have been enjoying the great leftovers all week. :) Please pray that our relationships and opportunities with this international population continues to grow!
We love you and are grateful for you! Our hearts, prayers, and phone numbers are always open to you- please let us know how we can be there for you and your family.

With love,
Dan and Kristin
