Libby Henderson speaks on Dealing with Difficult Lawyers. Service Opportunities Available on Advocacy Committee. David Grimes receives TWL Award, will present CLE. Office of the Attorney General Job Announcement. Law Day 2017.


This month's CLE lecturer will be Elizabeth "Libby" Henderson, a prosecutor with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, who will speak on “Dealing with Difficult Lawyers.”  The CLE will include a review of Professionalism and the Bar, types of difficult attorneys, and coping strategies.  The CLE luncheon will take place Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at noon, at the Capital City County Club, 1601 Golf Terrace, Tallahassee.  The cost is $15 for members, students, and legal support staff, and $20 for other guests.  Vegetarian options are available

The Advocacy Committee is looking for members. There are still opportunities for participation on the Advocacy Committee.  With legislative session coming in for a landing, FGBA is looking for a few good men and women to monitor events and help keep the membership informed and educated on developments at the Capitol.  If you are interested, email president@flagovbar.org.

Tallahassee Women Lawyers will recognize our very own David Grimes as the inaugural recipient of the TWL Diversity and Inclusion Award for his work promoting LGBT rights.   The Awards Luncheon which includes a CLE on LGBT Law in Florida presented by David will take place on Wednesday, May 10, at noon at the Capital City Country Club.  Jon Harris Maurer of the Equality Florida Institute will discuss Equality Florida's advocacy for LGBT rights at the state and local levels.  The cost is $25 for non-TWL members.  RSVP by May 5 to twlrsvp@gmail.com.
