March for Science

Its's been a busy month April, several of you took part in last weekend's March for Science, we had a fantastic Science Festival line-up, and we had our usual monthly talk last week. On top of all that, we have our movie night on Thursday too.

We really need a rest but then Theresa May goes and announces a UK General election! So, we are now working on putting on a hustings event on May 18th, details to be announced as and when we get details.

We will likely be looking for volunteers to help on this and for our Fringe events in August, so if your interesting in helping out, please let us know - contact@edskeptics.co.uk

Meanwhile, here's our confirmed upcoming events.
Our next event:

Skeptics Underground: Feminism

Held by Edinburgh Skeptics Society on 7 May 2017 2:00 PM
Nearly 100 years after the first women secured the right to vote in the UK, feminism remains a topic of great relevance today. We will discuss various issues pertaining to feminism in the 21st century: the pay gap, reproductive choice, work-life balance, the imposition of gender roles etc. We will look at how they affect women and girls, and sometimes men and boys too, and discuss activism around such topics. We’ll also discuss feminism as a movement, the use of the term “feminist” and the tactics used by feminists and those who oppose them.
So nothing controversial, really.

Coming Events:
