-TODAY IS WORLD MALARIA DAY-

Dear Friends of Think Humanity,

On April 19th we gave out 500 mosquito nets in Wairigaza Village in western Uganda. As always we started it out by demonstrating the proper use of a mosquito net.
The event was very successful and because of your donations many families will be sleeping safely from the deadly mosquitoes. Visit our website to learn more about Bed Nets 4 Life.

The same day we held a Health Day at the Think Humanity Health Center. The health center is just seven kilometers outside of the Kyangwali Refugee Camp. We received 73 patients. 55 were women of child bearing age. This takes a lot of time for consultations with the doctor, lab work, ultrasounds and dispensing of medications, so this was a very productive day.

The GOOD news: The health center had 18 percent cases of malaria last month, while other regions in Uganda are seeing 50 percent cases. We believe that the Think Humanity bed net distributions in this area has really reduced incidences of malaria. Dr. Herbert said, "We are fairly well off compared to other parts of the country due to periodic insecticide bed net distributions." Let's keep it up and see that other regions, districts and villages see this same benefit.

Pictured above is Think Humanity's Nurse Jane at the Think Humanity Health Center Kyangwali. While giving out mosquito nets and birthing kits in Wairigaza, a Health Day was being held at the Health Center. Health Day is a special day we hold about four times a year or as funds permit. The doctor sees mostly women who have health issues and cannot afford to seek medical treatment.
