The REPLICATE project

Bristol City Council and its partners are part of a major new European innovation project in our city. The REPLICATE project aims to explore how new technologies can help people to save energy and money, and try new ways of travelling around.

Over the next few years, the REPLICATE project
will invite people in Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill to try out these new technologies. As a European project, REPLICATE is working closely with partner cities San Sebastian (Spain) and Florence (Italy) who are trying out similar smart technologies in their cities.

New ways of getting around

As part of the REPLICATE project the Bristol Pilot will trial new ways of getting around including an electric bike scheme, an electric car club and an electric taxi-bus. These transport options will be brought together in travel apps to give people more ways to travel and make it easier for drivers to find a local parking space.

It is hoped these actions will lead to people using more sustainable travel options, increase health and wellbeing, reduce CO2 emissions responsible for climate change and more.

Try new smart appliances

Find out how having a 'smart' home appliances that are connected to the internet could save you money.

REPLICATE participants will have the chance of trying smart internet connected and low-energy use appliances which could include a smart fridge freezer or washing machine. These smart appliances manage their own energy consumption within the preferences you set, and could save households energy and reduce fuel bills. Smart appliances will be available to a limited number of households alongside other energy measures like LED lighting or solar panels.
