What do the Cities of Philadelphia & Boston have in common?
We are pleased to announce, after a competitive proposal process, both the
City of Philadelphia and the
City of Boston, in the past two weeks,
chose municibid.com as their online auctions provider. Both cited
ease of use,
demonstrated results and
no cost as determining factors. The
City of Boston, who has used municibid in their pilot program, is entering into a
3 year contract with us. The City of Philadelphia, who
was using a competing service, will transition to municibid, beginning April, 2011. We are excited to continue our relationship with the City of Boston and look forward to getting started with the City of Philadelphia, our home town! More details regarding both cities' auction items will be highlighted in next month's "municibid monthly."
Some
other government agencies who recently
joined municibid include: Borough of Hatboro, PA; City of Westfield, MA; East Lansdowne, PA; Shamokin Area SD; Town of Bourne, MA; Town of Stoneham, MA; Upper Montgomery Joint Authority; Upper Providence Township, PA... and more.

Look for municibid at CONEXPO!
CO
NEXPO-CON/AGG is the international gathering place for the construction industries. It's held every three years in Las Vegas, this year on March 22-26. If your government agency has heavy equipment to auction, we
highly recommend getting it posted and being open for bids throughout the show dates! We are seeing an
increase in used heavy equipment coming available on the market. We are continuing to build our
network of heavy equipment buyers.
municibid has also partnered with
Rock & Dirt (among other publications/websites) to promote your government agency's equipment (at no cost to the agency). Items are posted as soon as they come online. We also have a
display ad running monthly, in all editions, nationwide. This ad will include municibid's heavy equipment auction items in the future.
We upgraded our servers, auction listing process, bidder notification system, and more!
Last Sunday, we transitioned to new servers. These new,
faster servers will allow us to continue to scale and
meet the needs of our continued, rapid growth. With the new server comes an even
smoother listing process for sellers. We'll email our sellers directly with the specifics of the updated listing process. If you're a seller, you can give a try now! It includes
helpful technology to guide you through the process.
Zip Code searching has returned! Our new
auction notification system will also be available soon. This will allow bidders to choose when to be notified (via email) when specific items they are looking for become available for auction.
municibid was built by the people who use it. Your
feedback and comments are important to us and something we take very seriously. Please never hesitate to let us know if you have an idea or suggestion on further improving municibid! If you have feedback or ideas, you'll notice a tab on the left side of
municibid.com, you may enter it there, or
email them to us!
It's time for Spring Cleaning!
Let's hope we've seen the end of the snow! It has definitely caused delays in getting auction items posted, which we are now seeing come online. With the
increase in activity and attention municibid is continuing to receive, now is a great time to do some Spring cleaning and get your no longer needed items listed!
municibid is very easy and free for government!
It's Simple! Gov't agencies lists their items (we will help), we advertise the items, attracting bidders (at no cost to gov), we present the Gov't agency with results, Gov't agency accepts or rejects the results. If accepted the winning bidder pays Gov't agency directly, in full.
Testimonial (received March 1, 2011):
"Many thanks to the folks at municibid. Our municipality recently used this service to dispose of surplus property, and the process could not have been easier. municibid helps local government to become more efficient." -Tommy Ryan, Borough Manager, Borough of Hatboro, PA
