Spring is here!
That means the trees are green, the flowers are blooming, the pollen is swirling and the bees are buzzing. Love the blooms but not the bugs?! Me too! Between scratching mosquito bites, checking the dogs for ticks, using nasal spray and cleaning pollen off the patio furniture at every meal, I have no free time to simply enjoy the outdoors.
While I have yet to engineer a robot to clean your patio furniture or administer your nasal spray for you, I have concocted "Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me" Organic Citronella Salve. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3 with my 2-20-2 rule and only 2 ingredients. To safely apply essential oils to the skin, they need to be diluted into a 2% solution. No beakers, bunsen burners or fugly safety goggles needed here. I promise. I suck at chemistry, so if I can do this so can you. Just follow my 2-20-2 rule. For a 2 % dilution, combine 20 drops of essential oil with 2 oz. of carrier oil.
