Dry Needling Update
Earlier this month the APA legislative committee had the opportunity to meet with the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) at the offices of our lobbyist Ted Mowatt. The PPTA representatives made it very clear that they believe the procedure of "dry needling" to be a technique inherent to the practice of physical therapy. It is clear to us that is is only a matter of time before the PPTA bring legislation to include the language of "dry needling" in their practice act.
APA lobbyist, Ted Mowatt, is our eyes, ears and voice in Harrisburg and our best strategy to discourage the additions of "dry needling " to the PT scope of practice. Ted is also the most economical option. Other state acupuncture association have spent well over $100,000 in legal action to reverse dry needling in their states. Our lobbyist costs a fraction of that but we need your help.
