The UCLG Culture Summit opens its doors

Tomorrow, the Jeju Arts and Culture Center will open its doors for the 2nd UCLG Culture Summit, with the title Commitments and actions for culture in sustainable cities!

The Province of JEJU (Republic of Korea) is preparing to welcome cities, local and regional governments, experts and leaders from around the world to discuss culture as a key pillar for sustainability.

The opening session begins at 11am. We kindly ask you to arrive at the venue in advance to pick up your accreditation, which will be available from 9.30am tomorrow.

LOGISTICAL INFORMATION REGARDING TRANSPORTATION
 
The organizers of the Summit have arranged buses to transport participants from the Maison Glad and New Crown hotels to the Jeju Arts and Culture Center, where the Summit will take place.

We invite participants staying at the Shilla Stay hotel to go to the Maison Glad hotel (2 minutes’ walk) and participants staying at The One hotel to go to the New Crown hotel (2 minutes’ walk) to catch the buses that are leaving from those hotels.

(Journey takes between 20 and 30 minutes)

What not to miss after picking up your accreditation:

  • The official opening ceremony from 11 am to 1 pm
  • The opening speech by Korean poet KO Un, nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature
  • The speech of Karima BENNOUNE, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Cultural Rights
