Family Camp Weekend - Amazing!

We are very proud that the pilot program for our Family Camp Weekend at Camp Holiday Trails last weekend was well received. It was a different camp in that it revolved around unplugging from diabetes and to experience the healing power of horses! We want to thank the staff at CHT as well as all of our horse handlers  volunteers and our break out session facilitators. We hope to have more family camp events in the future!

Memorial Day 10k Run and 2-Mile Walk May 29th 8AM

We are very fortunate that the Lynchburg Road Runners Memorial Day event will again benefit T1de. T1de receives all of our community funding from this event. We have our sponsors lined up and we are now promoting the event for participants (that means your friends and family)! Kids activities will include face painting, balloon sculptures and more. Of course the walk will be lead by our MINI HORSE MASCOT and pictures will be available after the race! Please check-in at the T1DE table for the activity schedule when you arrive. Group Meeting "T1D and College" Wed May 17th 6:30-8PM

Our next group meeting we will have a number of families and their T1Ds who are now at college. College life presents new challenges and we want to be able to explore these issues and get perspectives from our kids and parents. Light fare will be provided. Please RSVP to info@t1de.org. We will also be holding a group meeting in June, details to follow.
 

Summer Pool Picnic Sat July 15th 10-2PM

SAVE THE DATE! Our summer pool party picnic is scheduled for Sat. July 15th 10-2PM at the HumanKind campus. Lunch will be provided. More details will be provided in July.
