MID SPRING MEDICINE

We continue to see more plants appearing as we progress through Spring time- the Yarrow and Calendula in our gardens are blooming while the swamps are filled with Elder and Mallow flowers. In the woods north of here, we've spotted the diminutive but lovely Partridgeberry flowers carpeting the forest floors.
This is also the time for Roses in Southeast Louisiana, earlier here than in many other places. Roses are powerful heart medicine, providing support to our cardiovascular system, easing our sorrows, and also helping us to develop needed boundaries. This month, allow Rose to help you explore the places within yourself that need to be healed, those that need to be protected, and those that want to be shared.

SHOP NEWS

We've been working with Eden Botanicals for many years now to provide high quality essential oils at the Shop. They are a small company that supplies small batch oils and are very in touch with the plant material and how the plants are doing in the world. We've spoken with the same 4 people in all the years we have worked with them. We carry a solid variety of popular oils, like lavender and tea tree, as well as more precious oils like ylang ylang and myrrh. Come in to learn more about our selection!

Also, our in-house Calendula infused Olive Oil is currently on SALE! Calendula oil is great for minor wounds, cuts, bruises, rashes and other minor irritations & infections of the skin.  Pick some up today!

COMMUNITY HERBAL EDUCATION  CENTER
UPDATES
Our friends Dave Meesters and Janet Kent at Medicine County Herbs in North Carolina have provided the following update on the Community Herbal Education Center that they were fundraising for last year:

"Many friends and supporters showed up to help us frame the walls and attach the roof. By the end of April, a milestone has been reached when the last piece of metal roofing was screwed down.... Thanks to all the help we've gotten, the dream is coming true. Our herb center is starting to look like the artist's rendering from last year! We are excited to have it ready to use for the newly-expanded Terra Sylva School beginning in 2018!"

Jen Stovall, of Maypop, is one of the co-founders of Terra Sylva. Check out the website (above) for more info!
