Community Strategic Planning Workshops

The Shire of Chapman Valley is developing its 2017 - 2027 Community Strategic Plan.  To ensure the Plan represents our Community needs and aspirations it is important as many people as possible participate in this important process and have their say.

Nanson Showgrounds Shade Shelter


Made possible by the State Government's Royalties for Regions Community Chest Fund and the Mid West Development Commission  the recently completed shade shelter will be a wonderful addition to the 2017 Chapman Valley Show.

The Shire of Chapman Valley hereby gives public notice of its Ordinary Council meeting dates:

Council will meet at 9.00am in the Council Chambers at Nabawa (3270 Chapman Valley Road) on each ordinary meeting date unless advertised.

WESTPAC COMMUNITY GRANTS
200 Westpac Foundation Community Grants, worth $10,000 each, will be awarded to local, grassroots not-for-profit organisations with big (or small) ideas that are providing educational opportunities, employment pathways or improvements in the quality of life of disadvantaged Australians in our local communities.

PREMIER'S AGRICULTURE & AQUACULTURE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM
The Premier's Agriculture and Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Program supports entrepreneurship and innovation in agriculture and aquaculture by offering scholarships to farmers and innovators in the sector.

The scholarship provides Western Australian farmers and individuals engaged in the agriculture or aquaculture sector up to $30,000 each to enable them to develop and pursue their idea through exposure to international best practice and leaders in their field. At the completion of their travel and learning experiences the successful applicant will share their knowledge and learning with industry.

ROYALTIES FOR REGIONS
  1. Retain and build the benefits of regional communities.
  2. Support improved, relevant and accessible local services.
  3. Enable communities to deliver a sustainable economic and social future.
  4. Assist regional communities to prosper through increased employment, business and industry development opportunities.
  5. Increase capacity for local strategic planning and decision-making
Regional Grants Scheme funds between $50,000 - $300,000 
 
NACC'S REGIONAL LANDCARE FACILITATOR (RLF) PROJECT
Small grants are available for community groups across the NAR to assist them in running capacity building activities that will engage our people in Landcare and NRM activities.
 
There is two categories of funding available for groups to apply:
  1. Funding to run activities or events that will lead to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity outcomes e.g. workshop/field day/ bus tour on soil health, biodiversity protection, wetland and riparian protection, etc. Groups can apply for funding of up to $1,000 to assist them deliver these outcomes. Training on rural leadership including women & youth will be considered on initial discussion with the RLF.
  2. Funding to help our community groups tackle the threats of feral animals in the region’s landscape e.g. red card for rabbits and foxes and any feral animal control event. Groups can apply for funding of up to $750 to assist them with the cost of running the red card for rabbits and foxes or any feral animal control.
