Our school needs to grow. A bigger school means a more vibrant community, better facilities for more children and the means for increased recognition for all our wonderful, generous and dedicated (largely volunteer!) staff. Word of mouth is the number 1 way of growing enrolments so please share this with everyone.

Helena River Steiner School

Dear Parents and Community,
As you may know, we submitted the first part of our school registration proposal to the Education Minister last year. However, with the election earlier in the year, all matters were put on hold some months back and we have just been waiting for a response. Last week the new Minister for Education and Training, Sue Ellery, approved our Advance Determination. This is fantastic news for us! It
means we can proceed with the next step of the registration process. It also means that we will be extremely busy in the next couple of months preparing our application. It certainly lends a heart-warming, well-needed boost to all our tireless endeavours to create a beautiful school for our children.
Blessings on our school,
Tanami Magnus

Principal

Our long-awaited campaign in now launched! We are seeking donations on a wide scale in order to bring our school up to the next level of professional operation. We have come so far in the last three and a half years on the continual generosity of time, services, skills and donated resources of our teacher, parent and wider community, and on the sniff of an oily rag! Now it is time we gather some significant funds in order to support our growing operations, particularly our new primary class.

WATCH THE VIDEO, DONATE WHAT YOU CAN, SHARE WIDELY AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS, AND KNOW THAT YOU HAVE HELPED MAKE HISTORY.

NEW PRIMARY CLASS BEGINS!

This week our first mixed-age primary class began! We have named our new group "The Pioneers" and they have already been very busy designing the new playground, planting seeds for their vegetable garden, starting their first knitting stiches, and of course delving in to their lesson work.
We look forward to welcoming some girls into the group, but for now the boys are marching us into a new dimension. I am enjoying hearing their rhythmic recitations and enthusiastic ideas filtering through to the office.
Congratulations Kathy Riley on bringing an inspiring first week to our primary children. We send blessings to your journey each day.
HOW WILL YOU DO YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS THIS TERM?
There are always so many tasks to be done in a growing school. If you or any of your family members can help with any of the above, please let Tanami know in the office.
Volunteer Hours forms will be handed out to kindy and primary families this week. Each family is expected to contribute 4-5 hours per term. Please hand them in to the office or a P&F member when the hours are completed.
Please note we will be having a DADS' BUSY BEE on Sunday 28th May and a planning meeting for it on Saturday 13th May at 10 am. This would be a great way to do your hours if you are available that day.
"Many hands have made this school,
Many hearts now keep it warm"
Please print out a copy of this term's calendar so you can be prepared for events, or check the calendar on our website regularly.
