Colorado Department of Education delivers state ESSA plan to U.S. Department of Education

After more than a year of meetings, discussion and development, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) submitted its ESSA plan to the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) on Monday.

The development of the plan included significant outreach to collect feedback from the many individuals and organizations who participated in the process. CDE thanks all who gave so generously of their time. Your feedback made the plan better.

Approval process for Colorado's ESSA state plan

The U.S. Department of Education has received Colorado’s ESSA state plan and will review it for completeness before sending it forward for peer review. The U.S. Department of Education will have 120 days to approve the plan. CDE will pass along any updates it receives as part of the review process and will provide information to stakeholders regarding any changes that are required to receive plan approval.
