RENEWAL LEAVE UPDATE Sonny & Sharon’s Spiritual Formation & Renewal Leave has begun! Lift them up and keep them in your prayers daily during their sabbatical. We are thankful to have Rev. Charlie Patrick provide our messages each Sunday morning. Rev. Anita Sayles will provide crisis and emergency pastoral care needs, and Cassie Morrell in the Church Office will be handling the administrative responsibilities.

 AWESOME OFFICE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Looking for something fun to do this summer? Well, we're looking for several volunteers to help Cassie in the office, especially on Fridays. Duties will vary but mostly will involve helping with phone calls, greeting guests and distributing information about BUMC. If you'd like to volunteer (approximately 2-4 hours a week, or during the month), please call Cassie in the office at (828) 274-2379. No experience needed (we'll train you); just bring a smile and a willingness to learn and to serve!
GRADUATE SUNDAY will be June 4 during the 11am worship service. Please call the church office (828)274-2379 or see Gayann Eastman or Margaret Stanley, to let us know of any graduates (high school or college) that would like to be included - we want to celebrate their accomplishments! To date, we have 9 graduates to recognize! Following the service, we'll celebrate with cake and punch in our Church Commons Lobby.
SABBATICAL STABILITY THROUGH OUR SMALL GROUPS
During our Pastor’s Sabbatical Leave, our small groups will be our foundation for keeping us connected and thriving. As we meet each week, we will support Sonny and Sharon with our prayers, lift up all our volunteers and staff who are taking on extra duties, and continue to share our lives with each other. We want everyone to be "encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” (Romans 1) because “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.” (1 Thessalonians 2:8). If you have yet to join, visit a group or two or three to see if one meshes with your needs. If your schedule and preferences don't match up yet, please let Anita know what would work for you. Let’s B’More together and welcome Sonny & Sharon back with a thriving fellowship!

LOVE OFFERING ON MOTHER'S DAY We're taking a special collection for Ginna Alexander, our church sexton, this Sunday, May 14. Please make a note on your check/envelop that offering is for Ginna or "Mother's Day Offering". She is a blessing to us!

BILTMOREUMC'S PRAYER TEAM assembles every Tuesday at noon to pray for the needs of our church and our community. We meet in the Prayer Room upstairs (right beside the elevator on Level 3), and we end by 12:30pm.
FILM FESTIVAL: STORIES OF STRUGGLE, CONSCIENCE AND SPIRIT (films and discussion focus on Israel/Palestine) continue through May 18 at UNC Asheville.
