SAFIR took their photo booth on the road to several area schools to have students pledge to have a healthy and safe summer with no underage drinking or substance use. SAFIR spoke to the students about the importance of making good decisions throughout the summer and come back in the fall ready for a successful school year.

I am Wanda Lincoln.
I am here today to raise my voice for children… our children of Indian River County.
I am asking you for a BIG investment in our children. And a VERY GOOD investment. A longitudinal research report (most recently documented from the University of Chicago) tells us investors in the early years will see a return of 13 percent back to the community. Wouldn’t we all like that kind of return?

Fredrick Douglas said
"It is easier to build a child than to repair a broken adult."

We have a chance to build strong children.
But to do that we have to create and utilize STRONG programs. Programs that support pregnant mothers, families, and the children themselves.
Strong programs, quality programs. And quality isn’t cheap!
In our own lives, we can often get by with something less expensive.
Or we can postpone buying or investing.

But when our children are at stake?
How can we postpone?
They are here. They are growing. Developing their brains… or NOT!
