Ideas for neighborhood excursionsRoger Morris Park and Morris-Jumel Mansion

Morris-Jumel Mansion, located on Jumel Terrace between 160th and 162nd Streets, is Manhattan’s oldest surviving house. Built in 1765 as a summer villa, the mansion served as a residence, the temporary headquarters of George Washington, and even a tavern before it became a museum in 1904. On weekdays the mansion is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; the surrounding park is open during daylight hours all week.

Mailman students and alumni at 4/5 networking event (Carlos Correa)
P&S psychiatry professor and alumnus David Forrest poses with his likeness at the opening reception for the eighth annual CUMC Fine Art Exhibition. Dr. Forrest modeled for the mixed-media piece, “Psychoanalyst as a Renaissance Man,” a collaboration between him and prominent RISDE trained artist Christiane Corbat, who cast it on him and illuminated it to show left and right brain influences.

The exhibition, which showcases the artistry and creativity of the extended CUMC family, is on display throughout Lower Levels 1 and 2 of the Hammer Health Sciences Center.
