IRB/IACUC Protocols

When an award is being processed in JAWS, you may be contacted by a JHURA Sponsored Project Specialist (SPS) to confirm IRB or IACUC protocols. It is extremely important that you reply to them in a timely manner, as failure to do so may result in your award’s workflow being unnecessarily delayed.  The SPS will follow up with you weekly for updates until a protocol is confirmed, so, if you have no update for the corresponding JAWS record, please provide simple “No new information to report” as a reply.  If you know that it will be several weeks before you receive any information regarding your protocol, you may also request that the SPS hold off on checking in for two weeks (or more).

JAWS Fast-Tracking Process

Did you know that JHURA implemented a fast-tracking process last year for award modifications?  Check out our recent blog post to learn more about our efforts, and how they’ve significantly improved our turnaround times.

REMINDERS

Subaward Checklist

Accuracy in information submitted through the Subaward Checklist is very important to us, as it allows for improved process times for which our team strives to provide.  Additionally, our new system (currently in development) will be designed to populate templates with certain data points submitted by departments, so accuracy will be even more important once it is unveiled.  If you have any questions when completing the Checklist, please reach out to our team for clarification prior to the submission of the request.

JAWS Intake Form

Please note that, if you have already submitted a document review request through our online Intake Form, you do NOT need to use the form again if you are submitting follow-up documentation at a later date.  Instead, please send the materials directly to JHURA_JAWS@jhu.edu, and include the PI name, Sponsor name, and SAP # (if applicable).
