Dell invests in Bristol-based machine learning chipmaker Graphcore Graphcore—a company manufacturing processors that could dramatically speed up AI training —announced a new investment from computer tech giant Dell, via its venture arm Dell Technologies Capital. Half of Scotland's jobs could be lost to automation by 2030 Robots threaten to steal almost fifty percent of Scottish jobs in about a decade, a new report suggests. According to the Institute for Public Policy Research Scotland, 1.2 million jobs —about 46 percent of the country’s total— are likely to be automated by 2030. READ MORE
Just Eat-Hungryhouse merger is being investigated by the CMA The merger between food delivery company Just East and rival platform Hungryhouse will undergo an “in-depth” investigation from pro-competition authorities. London-based Just Eat announced its intention to acquire the smaller company—owned by German firm Delivery Hero—in December 2016 for £200 million. READ MORE
