Summer In The Sand

Have you ever tried sand sculpture? I learned at an early age. (That's me on the left--and I'm topless!) My mother made mermaids in the sand with seaweed for hair and seashells for decoration. Naturally, I passed this art form along to my daughters, but we're just amateurs. There are many sand sculpture contests along the shore in the summertime and the results are often spectacular. The photo below is one I took several years ago of a gigantic sand sculpture in Seaside Heights. It was definitely more than a sand castle.
